10. The Impostor Worm

For the tenth day of October, something digs deep and does not let go:

β€œNot all parasites drain blood. Some dig deeper. Some become you.”

At the center of this piece hangs a segmented beast β€” modeled after the mythic worm of desert legend, the kind that swallows cities whole. But this one is smaller. Hungrier. Smarter.

Coiled in stainless steel, it pulses with a false sense of awe β€” as if worshiped, not feared. But look closer. The chain is infested. Silicone worms writhe between the links, silent invaders clinging to warmth, to motion, to host. You cannot feel them crawling... until they are already inside.

This is not the true worm of prophecy.
It is something that watched, mimicked, and replaced.

A parasite of narrative. Of form.

There is a theory: that deep beneath shifting sands, lesser things grew jealous of power. That they learned to imitate the sacred shape. That they wriggled into stories, into symbols, into skin.

And now, you wear one.

The Impostor Worm is not the parasite itself.
It is the invitation.
